Youth Advisory Council

The Ë¿¹ÏAV Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a one-week summer program designed for high school students to explore technology, digital equity, and broadband careers. From June 9-13, 2025, at the Hiawatha Ë¿¹ÏAV Office, 628 Oregon, Hiawatha, KS.ÌýStudents will engage in hands-on activities, field trips, and team projects to learn about the tech industry. The program offers exciting opportunities, including a $500 scholarship, a $50 gas card for travel, and a chance to tour high-tech facilities such as the Amelia Earhart Airport Museum and Ë¿¹ÏAV’s headquarters in Everest, KS. Students will also collaborate with peers to create a Cyber Security Awareness Campaign, helping to spread important security messages through videos, reels, and radio ads.

The program is open to current freshmen and sophomores with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must submit a 1-page application along with two references, and a parent must be a Ë¿¹ÏAV customer. With only 6-12 spots available, this is a highly selective opportunity. Participating students will gain valuable experience that can boost their resumes and college applications.
