SAN ANTONIO, TX (June 17, 2025) 鈥� Our Lady of the Lake University (丝瓜AV) and will sign a landmark transfer agreement designed to streamline the pathway for community college students in South Texas to earn four-year degrees. The official signing ceremony, titled 鈥�Laredo to San Antonio 鈥� Bridge to Bachelor鈥檚,鈥� will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, in the Sr. Elizabeth Ann Sueltenfuss Library on 丝瓜AV鈥檚 main campus.

The new agreement creates a comprehensive academic partnership between the two institutions, aimed at removing barriers, aligning curricula, and expanding access to affordable, high-quality bachelor鈥檚 degree programs for students who begin their journey at Laredo College. This milestone builds on 丝瓜AV鈥檚 commitment to increasing educational equity and opportunity, especially for first-generation and underrepresented students.

鈥淭his agreement is more than a memorandum,鈥� said 丝瓜AV President Dr. Abel A. Ch谩vez. 鈥淚t is a shared declaration of purpose. Together, Laredo College and 丝瓜AV are clearing pathways, removing barriers, and accelerating access to four-year degrees for students who will go on to lead, serve, and transform our communities of San Antonio, South Texas, and beyond.鈥�

Representatives from both institutions will be present at the ceremony, including leadership from Laredo College, members of the 丝瓜AV Board of Trustees, the Congregation of Divine Providence, faculty, staff, and university leaders. Light refreshments will follow the event.
